Golf and other matters of significance

Scott has flown up to compete in the NSW Trainee Professional tournament being held at beautiful Hawk's Nest this week.
Phil and I spent the weekend with him as he prepared for the tournament and I've returned to work while Phil is staying on to caddy for Scott for the week. Doctor's orders, isn't he a lucky boy? :)

We are thankful, very thankful that the blood pressure is slowly coming down. Still not great, but better than it was.
We spent the weekend at a lovely old Bible College called Tahlee. It is a beautiful property with historic buildings right on the edge of Port Stephens. We went for walks exploring the convict built buildings and boat ramp, played table tennis, checked out the golf course and watched the Olympics. In all a relaxing weekend and hopefully it helped Scott prepare for the big competition ahead this week.

The leadership team here at NTM have been so supportive and practical in the ways they have helped release Phil from some of his roles and responsibilities and provided ways for us to manage through this challenging time. We have much to be thankful for and the team have been right with us each step of the way.

I returned from Tahlee to run a Pathways for Peace, Conflict for Change workshop as part of the Mentoring Course that I run. We have our Graduation barbeque next week and it will be a time to celebrate the journey we have all been on as a learning community.
I've enjoyed the privilege of working with the people who attended and have learnt much along the way as I prepared the various sessions.

This next few months will be challenging with a number of events to prepare for apart from my normal helping out with Missionary Training.
I'd sure value prayer for the following events:

  • Thursday 28th Heritage Christian School-Year 10 Workshop on Identity in Christ
  • Friday 29th Mentoring plus a Wedding Anniversary lunch with good friends in Coffs Harbour
  • Sunday 31st Bonny Hills Church of Christ - Preaching at the morning service
  • Monday 1st Sept Missionary Training-Leadership Workshop
  • Tuesday 2nd Mentor Training-Graduation evening
  • Friday 5th-11th Brisbane (Time with my good friend Jill)
  • Wed 17th Sept-22nd-Belconnen Baptist Church Canberra Missions Week. This week is my first opportunity to be a main speaker at an event and I'll be presenting 6 messages. Some will be doubled up, so in all 4 to prepare. Excited, nervous, hopeful and encouraged about summs up how I feel about this opportunity.
Well that is it and I'll fill you in on more at a later time.
In between we have Scott staying with us next week, plus Jason and his girlfriend visiting too, then I spend a break with my dear friend Jill and we also have other dear friends visiting us as well.
