It's Been A While

That's what everyone at the recent New Tribes Mission 50th Anniversary were saying and they were right. For some who attended, it was their first time in 20 or more years. For many, it was with mixed feelings, as we dealt with past memories, some painful and some not so, but for all the day was an opportunity to re-connect, reminisce and enjoy some laughter together.

We had three couples stay in our little cottage together with us. It was a great night of laughter and stories as though there had been no time apart. There is something to be said for lifelong friendships formed through shared ideals and tempered by life's challenges.

Craig and Neri have been dear friends for many moons. It was great to have some precious time with them.
Yes, Gail is lots of fun and there is always laughter whenever she is around. We think you are awesome Gail. Now a triathelete and teaching full-time. Amazing!!!

The three amigos, Phil with two of our dearest friends, John and Craig. Our youngest son, is named after these two guys. Uncle Ted was a very special guest at this event as he's been with the mission for many, many years serving faithfully in PNG and Australia and is now in his 90's running young people's bible studies and attending youth church cause he just loves helping the next generation understand God and His Word.

This is a man who is running the race of life very well indeed. Only hope I can do the same.

It was an awesome thing for him to pray at the evening service where he listed all those who had served the Lord faithfully with NTM and were now in heaven, one of them was his wife. Hebrews 11 will be a mighty long chapter to be read when the number of all days is finally done.

Phil and I had a part to play in helping the event run smoothly. All the current students and staff on site spent many weeks preparing and praying for the event.

The day will be remembered as a special one indeed by all who attended.
