In between golf games there were swims, frisbee on the beach and paddling. Exhausting for us oldies, but great fun. Scott is here showing his golfing tan. What more can you expect from a Tasmanian in the middle of winter?
Father and son, both showing off tans?!? They only paddled for a while as they were warned of huge sharks out round the rocks were they were heading. They came back in and surfed some waves instead. I was relieved.
Diamond Head is a beautiful camping area and swimming location. Saw a huge kite (looks like an eagle) soaring above and then resting on a high branch. Awesome stuff.
Diamon Head gap. Great spot for fishing, diving and dodging sharks. The caravan park was filled with grey nomads in their vans and lots of kangaroos lolling around on the warm grass. Think we'll come back and camp there sometime and enjoy the 'tranquility!'
Daniel Blackwell travelled up with Scott to enter the three Pro-Am competitions and we enjoyed getting to know him over the week. Phil had a great time being caddy, though found the long days very tiring. They were on the road by 5:30am each day travelling to Port Macquarie, Wauchope and Taree.
Scott enjoyed the opportunity to compete against other professional golfers from NSW. For his first go he did very well, earning some prize money in two of the competitions. It never ceases to amaze me how much discpline and dedication it takes to achieve your goals in life. He's quite a challenge to me, who tends to wish things were just that little bit more instant and easy.
His games improved each day as did his confidence. He wants to return next year and will enjoy the challenge. We'll enjoy the company and the chance to look after him for a while. He suffered an abscessed tooth in the last couple of days of competition and had a root canal procedure a couple of days and lots of panadol later.
Our lovely grandchild Hayley has turned 3. Happy Birthday Hayley!!! :) We certainly miss times with her and the family.
Pictured here with her new little sister Maddison who is oblivious to the party happening around her.
A musical talent in the making. Pround grandma will always be impressed.
