Mother's Day Weekend

Mother’s Day weekend began with the arrival of flowers from Scott and I have it on good report that he was not prompted at all by Phil. They were beautiful and I was still brushing away the tears as we headed up the coast to Yamba to catch up with our other two Brisbane based boys.
We found a lovely place to stay and being off season were able to secure a great deal at an eco-resort fully equipped with tennis court, swimming pool, full-sized pool table and hot breakfasts thrown in. Doesn't get better for our lot.
Tennis-what can I say? Phil and I used to be able to take on the boys and win, but as you can see by the looks of steely determination, we were doomed, but not totally destroyed. They didn't even let me win on Mother's Day. No mercy for us oldies.

Being the only ones in the pool apart from cute little frogs who we had fun rescuing was rather fun, as you can see from the boys antics. A couple asked us if we were Tasmanians. No doubt the fact that we were the only ones in the rather cool pool in 'winter' had something to do with it.

Frogs were everywhere at the resort, huge green ones came out in the rain, while cute little ones seemed to love the pool, though I don't think the chlorine agreed with them. We had fun gathering them up and placing them back in the surrounding gardens. I know, call us 'Greenies and roaring conservationists!' The frogs might have another opinion.

Playing Phase 10 was fun. Jason, won that and Boule, though Phil wants it to be know that he won the 8-ball competition and on a full sized table. Not really a competative bunch eh?

Good company! Good times! Great location!
Craig showing off his back-flips. All our boys are very athletic and have enjoyed all sorts of fun sports. I learned a long time ago to stop saying, "Be careful!" like some old worry wart. Wasted words according to Phil and I think he's right.
This was the view of Yamba bay from the table where we ate our hot chips for Mother's Day lunch. Jason spotted a large pod of dolphins circling around in the waters! Hard to take really! Not!
All good things come to an end! The boys headed North to Brisbane and we south, back to Laurieton. Yamba is a great half way spot to meet and we will catch up there again sometime, maybe for Father's Day though it would be great to have Scott join us too. Thanks for a great Mother's Day weekend guys. Next week Phil and I will be telling you more about our roles here and the wonderful people we have the privilege of working with.
