Arrival in the Land of Port (not the bottle)

After a boringly uneventful trip on the Spirit of Tasmania on April Fool's Day, and a couple of days on the road via Canberra where we caught up with family, we made it to Laurieton, 30km south of Port Macquarie. Yeeeehahhh!

We arrived on Wednesday afternoon with our son Scott to a very green and lush environment - such a contrast from Tassie.

Our personal belongings and a little furniture had arrived that morning and were awaiting our personal attention in the carport of our new residence on the mission property. It is a great little 3-bedroom brick home, and yes it has water views of Queen's Lake. The downside is that we are at the top of the hill which means a number of steep walks a few times a day.

Saying goodbye was hard to do for both of us. We will miss family and friends very much but hope they will all come and visit, not at once, though that could be interesting.

We had a wonderful Easter with the boys – laughing, playing paintball, laughing, swimming, laughing, eating, oh, and did I mention laughing. Jason brought down a Playstation karaoke game, and in recent days we have been informed that we weren’t the only ones on site laughing?!?

Well that's all for now. Stay tuned for more updates next week.
