Easter! A quiet celebration

We enjoyed a few days housesitting for some friends in Port Macquarie and apart from an interesting time with a very determined but cute dog, we, and the dog, survived. Go Shazza!

The beaches and views along the coastline are magnificent and the water is still warm enough for swimming. We relaxed and enjoyed time in the bigger smoke or 'Port', as the locals call it, as we normally hang out in Laurieton 1/2 hr drive down Ocean Road. Great views most of the way. I tell ya, it's all hard to take up here!!!

On our return home we headed out for a paddle up the Camden River. We've not been on the water for ages as our car has been out of action. It's still not going well, needs a new head gasket, or engine, whichever is cheaper I guess. We've grown rather fond of the 'ol girl, despite being a rather high maintenance chic, but she has character. Maybe that's how Phil sees me too!!!!! Best not go there?!

Perfect day for canoeing up the river.

Anyway, back to the river.......The young bloke himself!
It was beautiful, tranquil and just what we needed on the eve of a busy week ahead filled with meetings etc.
We saw quite a variety of wildlife, cows, tree goanna (he scared me twice) ducks, all sorts of birds, an eagle and lots of fish, which made Phil wish he'd brought the rod. Though I did feel free to share with him that he wouldn't have seen any fish if he'd brought the rod. Such is the nature of fishing.
