Staying with the Stuff

Phil's phun with phishing. Yes we did have to throw him back in! The phish that is! The big ones all got away!
Oils Ain't Oils Sol
Well it's business as usual in this neck of the woods.
I returned from Tassie and settled back in to life in Laurieton.
Phil has been active with Board Meetings and helping the other mission departments with various issues. He described his role rather well the other day, likening it to 'oil in the engine,' keeping all the parts working well together. That in a nutshell is what he does on a daily basis, liaising, organising, networking, communicating, suggesting, listening and caring. He seeks to provide impetus for everyone to work together without too much friction or tension, offering smooth transitions for momentum and change.
Phil to PNG
Phil is about to head off to PNG for a week tomorrow. The opportunity came up for a meeting with the NTM Mobilising Team from the USA who are visiting the training centre in the Highlands and they invited someone from OZ to meet with them. Phil is looking forward to the opportunity re-connect with dear friends who we worked with many years ago in Hoskins and I look forward to him returning with lots of photos, stories and Goroka Coffee to share!
Rest and Relaxation Time
In between the daily challenges of ministry we try to set aside time for rest and relaxation in the form of fishing and going for drives either inland to the mountains or along the coastline exploring beaches and headlands. Either is absolutely stunning and quite a refreshing change from the 'desk work' that takes up most of his days.
We headed down to Crowdy Head and Harrington last weekend and found some lovely beaches and a lighthouse. We also found a beautiful art gallery and coffee shop. Always enjoy that part of an excursion.
Fishing hasn't been as successful as when Pete and Dad were here, but we will persevere.
Collingwood and Carlton are playing today. Mmmm, we'll see how that goes. We saw the game at the MCG last year. Thoroughly enjoyed my first experience of the Mighty G.
Crowdy Head. Fishing and holiday destination. Lovely beach for walking along and searching for shells. No cowries in sight though.

Lightouse at Crowdy Head. Magnificent old building, still functioning and well kept. The views were spectacular and hard to capture on a little camera. But I clicked away anyway as it was a glorious sunny day with people actually swimming, enjoying the warm weather and refreshing waters. Made me shiver as I was still recovering from Tassie. Did I mention that Tassie was 'cold?'

Tea House, cute eh?! Well worth the visit, food great, chai latte great, fantastic art work everywhere and the lady who served us was the owner and artist. Very intersting lady indeed.

Well that's it for now. Phil is out there still watching the game and groaning, something about the umpires, but I bet all Carlton supporters blame the umpires. He did yell, Ask who's winning? Guess that is a good sign!

Have a great week everyone!
